The heart has four chambers.
The two upper chambers are the right and left atria.
The two lower chambers are the right and left ventricles.
Blood flows into the heart in the the right atrium.
It is then released through a valve into the right ventricle.
The blood then leaves the heart and goes to the lungs to get oxygen.
Then the blood returns to the heart into the left atrium.
A valve releases the oxygenated blood into the left ventricle
which flows into the aorta to the rest of the body.
After the blood circulates, it returns to the heart to the right atrium.
